COSMOS/M is a finite element analysis (FEA) software suite developed by Structural Research & Analysis Corporation (SRAC). It integrates pre- and post-processing with solvers for structural and thermal simulation. Within its GEO/STAR environment, engineers can build or import geometry; mesh beams, shells, and solid elements; assign materials; and apply loads and boundary conditions. COSMOS/M supports linear and nonlinear static analysis; modal, harmonic, and transient dynamic studies; buckling evaluation; and steady-state and transient heat transfer. It provides capabilities for contact, large deformation, and plasticity, along with clear visualization of stresses, displacements, temperatures, and related results. Widely used in mechanical, aerospace, and industrial design, COSMOS/M is known for its practicality and value. COSMOS technology from SRAC later evolved into the SolidWorks Simulation product family, though COSMOS/M remains a capable standalone solution in many organizations.
COSMOS/M is developed by SRAC. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.5. The name of the program executable file is material.exe.
